With a diverse career that spans the arts, education, and advocacy, Maya Carpenter is a dedicated professional committed to making a positive impact. Currently serving as the Director of Operations and HR for Mission Financials, Inc., Maya leverages her extensive experience to excel in this role.
Maya began her career in journalism before transitioning to education, where she has become a respected thought leader, speaker, and empathy advocate. She holds a bachelor’s degree in print journalism from the University of Florida and a master’s degree in education in educational leadership from Northcentral University.
Her dedication to education has taken her around the world. She has taught English in South Korea and helped build sustainable resources at an orphanage in Kenya. At South Florida State College, she became the first educator to graduate four incarcerated students at the Hardee County jail, in Florida, helping them earn their GEDs. This was a significant achievement, highlighting her commitment and impact.
As a passionate storyteller, she has written for notable publications and TV networks, including TV One and The Christian Post, using her platform to highlight stories and issues often overlooked by mainstream media.
Rooted in empathy, Maya's advocacy permeates all aspects of her life. She is dedicated to empowering communities and individuals, using her voice and skills to foster connection and inspire change. In her free time, Maya loves to embark on international adventures, lose herself in the magic of the theatre, groove to live performances of her favorite artists, and dream about her next global escapade.
