Message from the Founder
I knew from a young age that math and counting money were
two things that I enjoyed, so when I discovered accounting during
my sophomore year in college, I knew I found my career.
As a fresh-faced college graduate, I embarked on my accounting
journey as an auditor for for-profit companies. I hated it…
immediately.
It was during this season that I was forced to take a step back and really evaluate and assess what was important to me in a career and why there was a disconnect with this current role.
I started to look at the people around me, the ones that I credit
for helping me become who I am today. My grandmother who
made sure no one that she knew or saw ever went hungry, not even the stray cars in the community. My mother, who poured into the next generation as an elementary school special
ed and general ed teacher while putting herself through a master’s program while raising us and somehow not missing one of our sports games.
My father who volunteered consistently as the chairman of our church’s deacon board standing with people during some of their most challenging seasons. My sister who always led with joy and love and a deep concern for the emotional wellbeing of others. And it dawned on me. For my entire life, I was taught by example to invest my time and energy in building up the community around me. So, although, as an auditor, I found my math, I hadn’t yet found my mission. One year later, I shifted my accounting journey to supporting nonprofit organizations that are working to uplift their respective communities, and I have never looked back.
Fast forward 18 years, God has given me a new role. I now have the honor of leading a team of people, hand-picked by God, who have a heart for supporting nonprofit organizations. I do not
take this role lightly. My goal is to lead with the same joy, love, and consistency that has been instilled in me from those within my community from a young age.
